We recently took a trip to Walt Disney World with our two youngest, Alexis and Jacob, to celebrate Rod’s birthday and we ran into an old friend, Donald Duck! Wanting to capture this special reunion so we could relive it over and over again, I filmed our selfie fun with a 360 camera for a virtual reality 360 view video. Such fun!

Selfie Fun With Donald Duck – 360 View
We ate lunch at Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This buffet restaurant is African-themed with promises of character meet-and-greets with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Daisy Duck and, of course Donald Duck … all dressed in their best safari fashion. The food was not only delicious, but plentiful as well. If you have the opportunity to eat there, I recommend it highly.
We had a great interaction with Donald Duck and I am happy to have the photos to remember the fun. But, I am super excited to have this extremely wide-angle video to look back on and ‘be in the moment’ again with all its 360 virtual reality gloriousness. PLUS, it was super easy to use!
These days, the 360 camera is small and lightweight, making it easy to take along wherever you go … including amusement parks. I simply attached the camera to a small tripod (included in the kit), set it on the table and pressed the record button. When Donald Duck arrived, we could carry on with the character meet without worrying about a thing … well, except for the selfie action, of course. But, hey, that’s the FUN part!
Which 360 Camera To Use?

There are many 360 VR cameras to choose from out there. I used an inexpensive Vivitar 360 Camera (under $100 at the time of this post) to bring along this trip. This particular kit also comes with useful accessories, including a small, portable tripod for the camera.
Both of which, I easily carried into the parks.
We had a great time during our short trip to Walt Disney World for Rod’s Birthday Bash. We ate a lot of delicious food, rode on some amazing rides, sang ‘Happy Birthday’ more than a few times, and created some great lasting memories.
And that’s the important part … sharing experiences with family and ensuring those memories last. There are many options for recording these special times and virtual reality 360 photography is one way to document the experiences you have … even if the experience is having a bit of selfie fun with Donald Duck!
